Hey, Amy! Peter’s with me, which is nice. And my suitemate’s Greer, so I’m also with her, Ash, and Embry. Do you know any of them?

Can’t complain yet, but we’ll see how stir crazy we all get. How’s yours so far?

i don't think i've met ash or embry. five's crowded, though, isn't it? my cabin has four people in it and i'm already getting flashbacks to living in a dormitory (though it feels almost more like i got dropped in on somebody else's christmas family vacation).

i ended up with rupert, plus buffy and spike.

[ She mulls over sending the next text, but— well, this kind of talk is a cornerstone of any friendship, isn't it? ]

staying overnight is one thing, but the forced trial move-in is pretty new.

I guess I’m trying to pretend it’s like college, which I should have the stamina for, but I would’ve had my own room at Oxford. So it’s requiring a little extra imagination. Peter and I have our own bed, but sharing a bed with him is still new. Especially with roommates.

How’s Spike? He seems kind of

surly, from what I’ve seen at the gym. Slightly different flavor than Elias’s surly.

i think "different flavors of surly" is exactly right. it's like comparing the cartoon fox robin hood to a real fox.

as far as spike goes, my guess is that the mix of people isn't helping. he acts around buffy the way boys do when they're pulling on girls' pigtails in class. and he microwaves mugs of blood, which isn't something i can say i've ever had to deal with in a roommate before.

how's peter handling it all?

Mugs of blood?? I was going to ask what kind of blood, but I’m not sure I want to know

Peter? Giving it another hour before he starts climbing the walls. [ Literally. ]

And Ash and I are kind of seeing each other. So this isn’t really how I would have planned a getting-to-know-you weekend for them, you know?

i had the same thought. ignorance is bliss ... especially when it comes to mystery blood.

oh, oof. maybe it'll be for the best? not to use another platitude, but what doesn't kill you makes you stronger.
